Aerobotics in the malaria eradication project in Africa

Israeli drone maker Airobotics has signed an agreement with Zzap Malaria, a developer of AI-based software to locate stagnant water, to work towards eradicating malaria from the African continent.

Zzap Malaria’s system maps the affected territory and develops strategies to deal with stagnant water. Airobotics will provide Zzap Malaria with a system for a first commercial project to start in 2022 and last for twelve months in São Tomé and Príncipe in Central Africa.

The Airobotics system will provide aerial geographic data on which the Zzap Malaria system will perform analyzes to locate water.

Airobotics will receive a monthly payment of $ 40,000 from Zzap Malaria and an advance payment of $ 300,000. Zzap Malaria estimates that the malaria eradication drones market will be approximately $ 50 million per year by 2025.

The deal is subject to Zzap Malaria raising funds of at least $ 4.5 million within six months of signing.
