WATERBURY – Antonia M. DeBrito, 93, walked into heaven on Saturday, May 1, 2021 with her loving family by her side.
Antonia was born on the island of Cape Verde on June 18, 1927, daughter of the late Boaventura and Maria Antonia (Piedade) DeBrito and was a communicator of the Church of Our Lady of Fatima.
Antonia moved to Waterbury in 1993, dedicating her life to her family as a housewife and also caring for many other children in the Waterbury area. She loved to read, party and cook for many special events.
Antonia leaves behind his children, Jose Moreno and his wife, Maria from Seekonk, Mass., Mario DeBrito from Waterbury, Tomas DeBrito from Waterbury, Antonio DeBrito from Spain, Joao Duarte from Cape Verde Island, Maria Nascimento DeBrito from Pays -Bas, Maria Jesus DeBrito from the Cape Verde Islands, 25 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Manuel Moreno.
Antonia’s funeral will be on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 9 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial / The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, at Our Lady of Fatima Church for a Christian burial mass at 10 h Interment to follow at New Pine Grove Cemetery. Call hours will be Wednesday evenings from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
