Kaizer Chiefs Transfer News – Friday May 21, 2021
Kaizer chiefs seek to lock down the services of Sao Tome and Principe defender Jardel Nazaré, with the player ready for a medical examination.
Nazaré is currently a free agent and has been training with Naturena for some time. It appears he has impressed senior Kaizer Chiefs executives as he prepares to join the club in the coming days.
Jardel Nazaré ready for Kaizer Chiefs Medical
Kaizer Chiefs may sign Nazaré as he is a free agent, but he cannot be signed up to play this season and early fans can expect to see him in action at the Carling Black Label Cup show.
Nazaré was released by Georgian training Saburtalo Tbilisi at the end of 2020 and has been looking for a new club ever since. He started his professional career in Portugal and rebounded at clubs across the country before accepting an ill-fated transfer to Georgia where his career stalled and he failed to make a single league appearance.
He’s likely to be the start of a massive overhaul at Kaizer Chiefs and his arrival could mark the end of the road for Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya and Yagan Sasman who struggled during the game behind Philani Zulu and Happy Mashiane.
Nazaré caught the Kaizer Chiefs’ attention thanks to the changes he made for São Tomé and Príncipe against Bafana Bafana in the recent African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The main obstacle to his participation in Amakhosi next season could be the number of foreign players on the club’s books, with their quota already filled.
Kaizer bosses have been linked with dozens of players ahead of their transfer ban being lifted on July 1, 2021. Nazaré will be the first to undergo a medical exam and turn rumors and gossip into a real signing. We can expect a lot more of that in the coming weeks as well as a series of departures.
