Maria da Pedra (Furtado) Lima, 76, from Perry Street, died on May 30 in RI Hospital. She was the wife of Jorge Lima.
Born in Ribeira Seca, Villa Franca do Campo, St. Michael, Azores. She was the daughter of the late Joao and Esmaria (Raposa) Furtado. Maria is survived by her husband Jorge Lima, sons Stephen Lima of Bristol and George Lima of Warren, granddaughters Sabrina and Brianna Lima of Warren. She was the sister of John Furtado, Esmaria Medeiros and Maria do Carmo Rego all of Bristol
She was educated in Portugal. She worked as a machine operator at Carol Cable for 20 years and Hodges Badge for 8 years before retiring. She was a proud American citizen who loved to cook for her family and especially her granddaughters.
Her funeral services will be on Tuesday, June 2 at 9:30 a.m. from George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street, with a Christian burial mass, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street.
Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
