São Tomé and Príncipe vs Bafana Bafana 2022 CAN qualifying match
The Bafana Bafana completed the brace against Sao Tome and Principe with a 4-2 victory at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Monday afternoon.
Sao Tome started the game on the front foot by opening the scoring by captain Joazhifel Sousa Pontes, who won a free header at the near post to lead the ball past Ronwen Williams in the 12th minute.
Bafana eventually began to realize that they were still playing on their own pitch as Bongani Zungu combined well with Dean Furman, who played Thema Zwane perfectly on goal, with the reigning PSL footballer of the season slipping coldly into the net of inside the area.

Both teams started the half-time break at 1-1, with no change made at the start of the second stanza, although the “visitors” started on a brighter note.
Lebogang Manyama could have given his side the lead in the 49th minute but saw his effort hit the post after being caught by Zwane.
Percy Tau then made no mistake as he placed the ball past goalkeeper Adaim Gamboa to give Bafana the lead in the 69th minute.
Sao Tome responded just five minutes later with Harramiz Soares, who equalized for the “home” team, but ‘Mshishi’ restored parity with less than three minutes left on the clock to pocket his brace.
Tau assured Bafana of taking all three points for the second time in a row as he also grabbed his third goal of the campaign to secure a respectable victory for Molefi Ntseki’s side.
South Africa are now tied with Group C leaders Ghana, who have a match underway against Sudan on Tuesday afternoon.
