Zimbabwe and Sao Tome Foreign Ministers arrive in Addis for AU Ministerial Session
Addis Ababa January 31, 2022/ENA/ Zimbabwe Foreign Minister Frederick Musiiwa Makamure Shava and Sao Tome and Principe Foreign Minister Edite Ten Jua arrived in Addis Ababa to participate in the 40th ordinary session of the Executive Council of the African Union.
The Foreign Ministry’s Director General for Protocol Affairs, Feysel Alye, welcomed the ministers at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa.
The other summit participants are expected to come today and in the coming days.
The Director General said that 44 AU Member States will physically participate in the summit.
Leaders from 25 African countries are expected to attend the summit, some being represented by their prime ministers and foreign ministers, Feysel said.
“Our African brothers and sisters are well aware of the peace and security situation in Ethiopia and have decided to hold the AU summit in Addis Ababa. Thus, Ethiopia is ready to receive its guests.
Ethiopia has prepared adequately in all areas to host the 35and Ordinary Session of the AU in the best possible manner, reassured the Director General for Protocol Affairs.
The 40and ordinary session of the executive council will be held on Wednesday and Thursday and on 35and ordinary session of the AU assembly will be held on Saturday and Sunday.
